John Hendy QC “General strike could be legal”

In this video from Union News John Hendy QC spells out how a general strike could be legal – should the TUC decide to go ahead with a day of action.

John has co-authored the employment law book ‘Days Of Action’ with Institute Of Employment Rights President Professor Keith Ewing in which the legal argument behind the right of trade unions to hold a general strike is detailed.

The briefing was mentioned during the debate on TUC Motion 5 – to consider the practicalities of a general strike – and has been flying off the shelves since that motion was passed. Click on the link to the IER order your copy.
